How To Avoid Paying Airport Concession Fees On Rental Cars

A concession recovery fee is essentially the rental car company charging you to recoup the amount the airport charges it to offer services there. In Orlando this is 10% of the entire rental cost. Every rental company at the Airport charges this fee to recover the fee that they are charged by the airport.

Not Flying In?

Florida residents should NOT have to pay an airport concession fee. To avoid this, never pickup a rental car at the airport or too close to the airport as this fee is almost always tacked on automatically, even though you should not have to pay this fee unless you have flown into town within 48 hours of picking up your rental vehicle.

Out of state renters can also avoid this tax if it is possible for them to pick up they’re vehicle far enough away from the airport. In a lot of circumstances the 10% fee can be quite hefty on a week or more rental.

This is why we now offer a booking option of: Orlando (Not Flying In), this means we will NOT charge the 10% Airport Concession Fee on your rental when picked up at our Orlando office.

This is just another way we at Florida Van Rentals try to save our customers money. Also be sure to check out our current specials and discounts to save even more.
